The Vijfhoekpark is a park in the Dutch city of Zaandam, located south of the urban area. The park was created in the 1960s as a recreational park and as a buffer between two residential areas and an industrial area (Achtersluispolder). Originally, the park was managed in a traditional way, but "natural" management has existed for several decades.
In 1988 Scottish Highlanders were deployed to take care of the mowing. This was probably a first, as such cattle have never been used for park maintenance.
