This unique tree population is located on the "Liebenauer Weg", near the Januarsberg, in the direction of Deblinghausen. The nature reserve "Eichenkratt" is 1.89 hectares and was already placed under nature protection on September 2, 1939.
The name of this legendary oak stock is derived from the North German word "Kratt" = oak scrub and is explained by the impression that the trees seem to lack the trunk, so the oaks only consist of the treetop.
