The large summer linden tree stands at Wallisborn, or Walsborn for short, at the end of a station path to the Marienkapelle, built in 2000, and the Dünkreuz.
The station path is lined with pollard willows and some stately ash trees.
Its age is estimated at 320 - 400 years.
Its height of around 26 m makes the linden tree appear slimmer from a distance than it is.
The sign, hand-made by Ewald Heerda on behalf of NABU Obereichsfeld, identifies it as a summer linden tree.
It is vital, its crown bears an enormous amount of mistletoe.
