Constructed over an Arab mosque, that still retains its minaret tower from the eleventh century, the thirteenth century church has three naves and a Gothic-Mudejar apse, with a star-shaped vault. The Naranjos courtyard lies next to an adjoining small horseshoe arch doorway

The church was built on the site of Niebla's main mosque (11th century), which itself stood on the site of an ancient Roman temple.
After the Reconquista (13th century), it was transformed into a Christian church in the Gothic-Mudéjar style.
It preserves Roman, Visigothic, Islamic, and Christian elements, such as:

A Muslim mihrab and minaret tower.
An ornamental panel and Visigothic episcopal chair.
      Roman columns.
A Mudéjar apse and a Gothic presbytery with star vaults.

It is a small, sober building with Roman roots, built over the former main mosque of Niebla, which consisted of five or six naves and a minaret. Some of the walls and especially the mihrab survive from this period. It was later converted by the Christians into a Gothic-Mudéjar church. In the 16th century, a large part of the old mosque was demolished, the arcades were removed and three Mudejar-style naves and a presbytery were added (Wikipedia).
