The Prussian King Friedrich II had the mill built in 1748. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and well-known of the 40 or so windmills and watermills on the Westphalian Mill Road. After a thorough renovation, it has been operational again since 1994. In the summer, the blades turn once a month when the mill group invites you to a meal and baking day. There's a lot going on on the baking days, including delicious food, music and sometimes a vintage car meet-up. The mill is also just a nice photo motif.

The Königsmühle Eilhausen is one of the "stone windmills" and is the oldest in the Minde-Lübbecke mill district and has sails and a compass rose. 1724 the lower part of the mill was built from rubble stones, later at the turn of the 18th/19th. The upper part, made of bricks, followed in the late 19th century. This turned the "Erdholländer" into a "Gallery Dutchman".
