Rothenburg is considered one of Germany's best-preserved medieval old towns, and the first glimpse of the half-timbered facades around the market square immediately shows you why. If you have some time, a walk along the completely preserved town wall is worthwhile. From above, you'll see the old town's roofscape from a perspective you won't soon forget. In the early morning, the city is still quiet and almost belongs to you alone.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is world-famous for its historic old town, which is so well and completely preserved that you can truly experience the Middle Ages there.

The market square of Rothenburg forms the heart of the town. From here, you can admire the impressive facades of the surrounding houses. In winter, one of the most famous and oldest Christmas markets in Germany takes place here and in the surrounding alleys, the Rothenburger Reiterlesmarkt.
