The very nice hut here offers shelter and a place to rest.
The Straufhain is a very popular destination. The view extends from the Thuringian Slate Mountains, over the Thuringian Forest to the High Rhön. In the vicinity you can see many prominent points, such as the Veste Coburg, the Veste Heldburg, the vineyard near Gompertshausen or the Gleichberge. A little further away you can see the Bleßberg. The sunset 🌄 up here 👍🏻 is fantastic, like on many other mountains. And yet every place has its certain individuality, which results from the perspective of the respective viewer. A visit to the castle ruins is worthwhile at any time of the year, especially in winter. So let's go, after all you can find excellent shelter under the hut and one more thing: don't leave any rubbish lying around.
