A beautifully romantic little church.
Open every Saturday, "open church", right next to the church there is a beautifully landscaped and well-kept herb garden.
In front of the church there are benches to rest and water to refresh yourself.

The St. Marien Church was built between 1300 and 1330 as a monastery church. It belonged to the monastery of the same name of the Cistercians - nuns who first lived here in Himmelpforten in 1255 AD. mentioned in a document. An important stop for monks in the Middle Ages on the Mönchsweg.
