Itterbeek's Saint Peter's Church is an oriented Gothic church with a basilical construction, dating back to the 13th century in its core, with modifications from different periods and restorations during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The church is located in the village green and is surrounded by a walled churchyard. The church was protected as a monument in 1938 (date of decision: March 25, 1938) and the cemetery wall was protected as a monument in 1975...

The parish of Itterbeek was one of the nine daughter churches of Sint-Pieters-Leeuw. In 1244 it became an independent parish. In the middle of the 13th century the Gothic St. Peter's Church was built, today the church tower remains (except for the upper section with bell chamber). A Romanesque house of prayer was said to have stood on this location before, nothing is known about this.
