The town hall in the center of the old town was once a warehouse for the monastery Ochsenhausen. It was built around 1606 as a warehouse. Only in 1825, after secularization, did the Kingdom of Württemberg, in whose territory Ochsenhausen now stood, acquire the building. From 1844 to 1980, the town hall was also a school and the local notary was represented. Six years later, the city was redeveloped and so was the marketplace. At that time also the fountain was created in the market square. The last renovation took place in the year 2000.
