Beautiful rest area with a view of the small mountain town of Lautenthal.
Lautenthal was founded around 1538 as a settlement for miners. It was first granted city rights by Duke Friedrich Ulrich in 1613.

The district of Lautenthal is a state-recognized climatic health resort that has belonged to the town of Langelsheim in the Goslar district in Lower Saxony since 1972 and has been officially called "Bergstadt" again since 2013. In addition to the main town, Lautenthal consists of the settlements of Laddeken, Rote Klippe and Hüttschenthal.
