The church dates back to the 13th century. The winged altar from 1508 comes from the workshop of Leonhard Beyer from Zwickau. The interior of the church was redesigned in 1970. The entrance was moved from the west side to the north side, the pulpit and the baptismal font were replaced, the colored stained glass windows were replaced by stained glass windows, the gallery on the south side was removed, the gallery on the north side was reduced. The church received new pews without a central aisle.
