The Niederwiesa train station is located on the southern edge of the center of Niederwiesa.
It was opened on May 14, 1866. In addition to the reception building, the station received a service building, a goods shed, a weighbridge, a loading ramp, a residential building and four signal boxes. In addition to the original reception building, a new, much larger, reform-style building was erected in 1913. The old reception building, which has hardly changed structurally to this day, now serves as a residential building.
