Historic free-standing bell tower of the church Koimiseos Theotokou (Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God).
The structure was built during the Venetian occupation of the island, presumably around the year 1682. It is built of stone, tall and imposing, dominating the small village square of Anogi.
The adjacent church itself is considerably older, dating from the 12th century. It is considered one of the most important Byzantine monuments in the Balkans.
Anogí was the capital of Ithaca in the 16th and 17th centuries, and this church served as the region's cathedral at that time.
