From here you have a wonderful view of the Schmilkaer Kessel. At the view you can see a sandstone block knocked out as a seat, after which the place is definitely named. The Oberer Terrassenweg begins in the east at the top of the Holy Staircase. The Rotkehlchenstiege and the Starke Stiege are crossed.
The path ends at the Breite Kluft. The entire route is marked as a climbing access with a black arrow. So it's not a normal hiking trail.
