The cottage for grain carriers and sack carriers was built in 1634. The building, with Mannerist elements, has a gable roof and a side facade that is rimmed over the canal. The neck gable is equipped with claw pieces with volutes. On the facade six wall anchors and five facing bricks: a grain measuring device that carries a bushel with the contents of a bushel, the gold-colored clock on a blue field is the old Franeker city coat of arms, a stone with the letters TAK (Toll, Excise, Corn measures), a facing stone with the word Anno and a facing brick with the year 1634. In 1937 there were still two grain counters in municipal service. The building was restored in 1924 and 1975.
