The cottage for wheat carriers and sack carriers was built in 1634. The building with Mannerist elements has a gable roof and a side wall that cantilevered over the canal. The neck gable is fitted with claw pieces with volutes. On the facade, six wall anchors and five facing stones: a corn meter carrying a bushel with the contents of a bushel, the gold-coloured clock on a blue field is the old city coat of arms of Franeker, a facing stone with the letters TAK (Tol, Excijns, Korenmeaten), a plaque with the word Anno and a plaque with the year 1634. In 1937 there were still two corn meters in municipal service.[1] The building was restored in 1924 and in 1975. (Source: wikipedia)
