BARONAL PALACE NOYA

Outside the walls, close to Porta Baresana or Piscina, stands the Baronial Palace commissioned by the Noya family, the penultimate feudal lord of the city, originally from Mola di Bari, who in 1743 bought the fiefdom of Bitetto from Prince Carmine de Angelis.
The building rises to the dual function of an urban palace, being just outside the walls, and a country residence, due to the fortified walls that protect it. In fact, it is fortified by a mighty enclosure wall made of diamond-cut stone ashlars, eurythmically marked by Tuscan-style pilasters and columns on high plinths at the access portal, emphasized by the raising of the wall, like a trapezoid.
