The 'uppermost' (northernmost) lake before the bridge over the Ablach River is open for swimming. All others are reserved for wildlife. The Schwackenreuth Lake District is a nature reserve. Near the parking lot at the viewing platform, there is a sign with a map that identifies and describes the swimming lake as Lake No. 6.
