Perhaps not everyone knows that in Pozzolo sul Mincio the Mantova-Peschiera cycle path leaves the course of the Mincio, remaining parallel to the Canale Diversivo.
The Mincio river instead at this point continues along its course passing through Goito, Rivalta (on the Mincio) to then "open" and form the first of the Mantua lakes, the Superior Lake.
After having formed the other 2 lakes: the "di Mezzo" one and the "Lower" one, the Mincio continues its course going to flow into the Po near Governolo.
