The municipality of Nové Domky is located about 2.5 km northwest of Rozvadov (note translator: Roßhaupt). The founding of the locality is documented fairly punctually. In 1699 the wooded area around today's village became part of the Velký Dvůr manor. The first settler was the manorial forester V. Weigert. Around 1703 there were already 423 inhabitants living in the village.
In 1921, 760 inhabitants (2 Czech and 756 German nationals) lived in 99 estates in Nové Domky. After the war the German population was resettled and after 1948 the village came close to the border barriers. Only about 10 properties (not all of which are permanently inhabited) and the church survived this period. It's on the southern edge of the village. It is an Empire building from the 40s of the 19th century. After the war it was used as a stable and storage room and was devastated. The interior was totally destroyed.
After 1989, Nové Domky became one of the symbols of the fall of the Iron Curtain. On December 23, 1989, the then Ministers of Czechoslovakia and Federal Republic of Germany Dienstbier and Genscher met here for the symbolic liquidation of the Iron Curtain. A monument commemorates this event to this day.
