By bus to Timmendorf and from there back to Travemünde on foot along the coast. Lots of showing off in Timmendorf and Niendorf. Lots of bicycle traffic, due to the Baltic Sea Cycle Route. Lots of landslides, due to the steep coast. Lots of clouds, but no rain. Had a lot of fun 😊

Today the last tour to the destination in Travemünde. At the same time, here on the Privall peninsula was the northernmost point of the inner-German border. Thus, we have completely ridden the Green Belt and the part of the Iron Curtain from Travemünde to Bratislava in several holidays.
Today's tour

Surprisingly hilly it continued today along the Elbe. On the left bank, the route led much less directly along the river than yesterday, but always behind the dike, or a bit inland. From Lauenburg we leave the Elbe and ride overland to the Schaalsee. The many thatched houses along the Elbe were beautiful

After a good breakfast, we continued today quite early in Wittenberge. Temperature-wise, the 30 degrees were to be easily cracked again and so an early start was not wrong. The tour ran only along the Elbe and was quite varied, mainly along the dam. Highlights were
- EKS in Cafe Elbeglück 🥰
- first thatched

After a wonderful breakfast, with a very pleasant temperature and as varied as yesterday, we headed towards the Elbe. We made a stop in Salzwedel, with a stop at the café with the best tree cake. The Arendsee, which we passed by, we used for a lunch break and an EKS at the local Seeglerheim. After a

Today's tour was the longest of our trip so far. Varied, sometimes through different nature reserves, then again past fields and farmland. Surprisingly green, and yet the potato fields are being irrigated by the farmers. We reached our beautiful accommodation in the late afternoon and were able to enjoy

We knew that the tour could become a bit monotonous, but today it was a bit much. A 30 km long, practically straight stretch was part of this tour. And not only was it very monotonous, the heat was added to it. But we don't want to complain 😉. We wanted it this way. It got better towards the end, and

Today, when setting off, it was significantly below 20 degrees for the first time and a jacket was (almost the whole day) necessary. The tour today had the most altitude meters and the highest point of the entire tour. Once through the western Harz to the actual starting point of our plan, to complete

Today we went through the Hessian Frau Holle Land in the direction of Göttingen in Lower Saxony. First, still quite flat along the Fuldaradweg, then into the hilly Frau Holle Land, which was named after an ancient legend and which the Brothers Grimm used as a basis for their fairy tales. We made good

After a very nice rest day in Fulda, we continued today along the same. But first, a flat tire, which miraculously appeared overnight, had to be fixed. Nice unspectacular cycle path along the Fulda, with beautiful scenery. Made two swimming stops at lakes along the route. Rotenburg itself is a beautiful

Today we went back and forth between Spessart and Rhön, between Bavaria and Hesse. The first km along the Sinn in Sinnesgrund rolled very well and at pleasant temperatures. That changed later and we had the first climbs on our tour. The heat was almost unbearable today, however. It was mega hot and humid

Third day of our summer tour. Start in TBB, then along the literally "lovely Tauber valley" which we hereby confirm. Very beautiful, mostly shady route. At Wertheim, the Tauber flows into the Main, along which we rode to our day's destination Gemünden. Before that, however, we explored Wertheim Castle

Our summer tour starts today. First by train to Heilbronn and from there it really started. First on the Neckartalradweg, then on the Jagsttalradweg to Möckmühl. Little shade and it was very hot 🥵

A visit to Lübeck was of course a must on our tour. Only 20 minutes away from Travemünde by train. For a city tour, it was made more difficult by the fact that it had rained for the first time in 2.5 weeks ☔️🌧. But whatever, it was still really nice. The Holsten-Tor had been on my list for a long time
