The Waldthurn History Trail was created as part of the LandKULTUR Waldthurn funding program of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry. The overall design was in the hands of the idea generator Josef Forster, the texts were provided by Georg Schmidbauer, chairman of the local history working group. The highlight is that a QR code is attached to each picture and text panel, which adds even more details in an amusing way.Princely couple arrivedWhich mayor can welcome his own princely couple to a ceremony, joked Mayor Josef Beimler at the blessing and handover of the Waldthurn history trail on the bathing pond site. The royal couple Elisabeth and Jaroslav von Lobkowicz had traveled from the Czech town of Krimice on the outskirts of Pilsen, almost 100 kilometers away, to officially open the history trail developed by LandKULTUR Waldthurn. The prince from the Czech Republic unveiled the Lobkowicz tablet.
The title of the book by Franz Bergler from 2014 "In the service of the homeland" is filled with life here in and around Waldthurn, according to Government Vice President Florian Luderschmid.
