"Maria Visitation" is a really worth seeing pilgrimage church, the age of which is not documented. The folk tradition, however, wants to attribute the origin to a battle that was fought in 976 between Emperor Otto II and Heinrich II, the brawler, in the so-called "blood moat" below Mendorferbuch in the forest). At that time the emperor was said to have pushed his general staff into the ground and, in the event of his victory, had praised the construction of a church here. This should be called "standing churches". Emperor Otto II became the victor and kept his promise.

Very nice location on the Lauterach. The pilgrimage church is worth a stopover.
