The Grenzlandturm (645 m) is an observation tower and for over 50 years the unmistakable landmark of Neualbenreuth in the north of the Upper Palatinate near the Czech border. He was inaugurated after the groundbreaking ceremony in July 1960 under the responsibility and under the direction of the Sudetendeutschen Landsmannschaft Neualbenreuth and the Oberpfälzer Waldverein Neualbenreuth on June 4, 1961. The viewing platform at 19 m height is accessible via 82 steps. From there you have a wide panorama of the Egerland and the Stiftland. The tower is one of the observation towers of the Oberpfälzer Waldverein and has been in operation since 2006. The idyllic garden with the true-to-scale replica of the Tillenschutzhaus as a former refuge of the German Alpine Club, section Eger, invites guests to linger under shady trees.

The borderland tower is a nice destination for starting a mountain bike tour in the direction of the Czech Republic to Dylen, it is managed, small snacks, coffee and cake. Note opening hours. Climbing the tower possible during opening hours.
