Hiking
The oldest existing signed bell in the Netherlands (wrought in 1285) was rung in the first church of Hekelingen (which no longer exists). This ringing bell has been in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam since 1916.[2].
Since the 19th century, a ferry has sailed between Hekelingen and Nieuw-Beijerland in the Hoeksche Waard, which today is the only car connection across the Spui.
