The Natchez Trace Parkway is a national parkway in the Southeastern United States that commemorates the historic Natchez Trace and preserves portions of this original trail. Its central feature is a dual carriageway that stretches 444 miles (715 km) from Natchez, Mississippi, to Nashville, Tennessee.
This is the 100 mile section 1 from Natchez to Jackson.
The most beautiful part is the initial stretch, the first 60 km. After that, the landscape is comparatively the same.
Regarding the many landmarks, there is little to see there. It's best to keep going and enjoy the trail from the saddle.
The Natchez Visitor Reception Center is a recommended starting point (also ending point).
There is plenty of parking and information about the route.
I definitely recommend lighting the bikes. It's easy to be overlooked in the woods and you have to remember that many tourists look away from the road to the left and right, so slow bikers can easily be overlooked.
A stop at the Owens Creek Waterfall is not worthwhile. There used to be one, a long time ago, today there is only a plaque to remind you of it.
