Great place with a nice view on the cathedral for having lunch/fika in the summer. The parc is very crowded during Walpurgis Night to see the the rafting down the Fyris River. The themed rafts are built by students out of polystyrene and many of them are destroyed while attempting to tackle the river’s mighty rapids near Gotlandsparken.

The view of Uppsala Cathedral from Gotlandsparken is one of the particularly beautiful perspectives of the city's landmark. From the small park on the Fyrisån, the two mighty towers of the cathedral rise above the historic buildings and trees of the city center. The green spaces and the nearby water form an attractive foreground for the monumental Gothic architecture. Gotlandsparken is therefore ideal for a short break and as a photo stop during a walk along the Fyrisån through historic Uppsala.
