Beech trees in the De Renesse park can grow old, but sometimes require extra protection. The beech trees at this location are very old, about 200 years. Once upon a time, in the distant past, castle dwellers sought the shade under their twigs. An excellent place to muse, but unfortunately not under their crown. This zone has been fenced off with a fence to prevent the ground from getting stuck again. This loose soil is important for extending the life of the old beech trees. Generations after us will hopefully appreciate this.
