The former Hens Castle, called 't Hofke in 1910, and located in a large park with a beautiful pond, was purchased by the municipality in 1923. A large part of the park was sold as building land to pay for the purchase. On Sunday, August 8, 1926, it was officially inaugurated as the new town hall. In 1998 the interior was modernized and adapted.
