Rosegg Castle in the Rosental Valley was built in 1772 by Prince Orsini-Rosenberg for his Italian mistress, Madame Lucrezia. The castle strongly resembles the Italian Brenta Villas; Orsini-Rosenberg spent several years in Italy and wanted to bring a touch of Italian flair to this summer residence in the heart of Carinthia.
