Friedrich Ludwig Molle (1823 to 1902), known as Bildermolle, regularly stayed in this cave during the summer months. The trough-like depression in the ledge served as a bed for him. Bildermolle was a Pößnecker original. He received the nickname because he wore numerous medals and pictures on his jacket and cap.
Since the surrounding caves (Ilsenhöhle, Hertahöhle) were inhabited in the Stone Age, it can also be assumed for this one.
