Gerhard Eilmsteiner's most famous work is probably the weather shuttle in Windhaag. The object is located exactly on the European watershed. At this dividing line, the rainwater flows into the Danube on one side and into the Vltava on the other side. An iron balance beam holds two granite bowls. When one of the bowls is filled with water, the machine starts moving, crosses the watershed and empties the bowl on the other side. Water that would have flowed into the Vltava now flows into the Danube and vice versa.
