The chapel is located at a crossroads in the hamlet of Schilberg. This hamlet, located against the Belgian border between Noorbeek, Hoogcrutz, De Planck and Slenaken, partly belongs to the municipality of Margraten, partly to the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem. Opposite the chapel, which is marked by trees and landscaping, is an old scutching pit and a road cross.
The chapel on a rectangular base is built in artillery stone. The facades recede inwards. The entrance has a round arch and is closed by means of an iron railing. The gable roof is covered with red tiles. A turret rises on the choir side, also with a small gable roof in the other direction. There are small window openings in the walls.
The interior is made of marlstone. On an altar is a statue of St. Joseph. There is a memorial stone on the right side. Because the window openings are only small, the chapel is rather dark.
