The hilltop castle is an almost rectangular structure with a side length of 50 meters in the south, 66 meters in the east, 68 meters in the west and 49 meters in the north. Of the four corner towers, three are rectangular and one is round. The castle rises, visible from afar, on the top of the conical Meinsberg in the border triangle of France, Germany and Luxembourg.
