Rotating radio beacons are directional transmitters used in aviation to measure the wind
kels in the horizontal plane (azimuth). You can with one
Additional tool can be used for distance measurement.
In principle, a rotary radio beacon can be compared to the way a lighthouse works.
Flashes are emitted at regular intervals from the lighthouse in all directions (all-round fire). Under the round fire is a rotating searchlight
installed on a platform whose speed corresponds to the flash frequency.
The time between the flash and the passage of the turning beam on the aircraft is a measure of
the relative azimuth of the aircraft to the location of the lighthouse

and also "elsewhere"😆!Such "racks" can also be found in Barmen, on the island of Rügen, Fulda, Roding, Nörvenich, Sulz, etc....However, I prefer the "Wöschbach Airport" for my "long-distance bike trips"!😆Outside of the "DVOR" there are "a lot" of beautiful areas 👍
