Camargue horses are small and robust gray horses with a frugal nature - they originally come from the Rhone Delta in southern France and were preferred as workhorses to herd the regionally typical herds of bulls. Even today, the original wild horses are bred almost exclusively in the Camargue region, which gives them their name.
