Gravel Track Along Étang de Vaccarès

Superb gravel track that runs along the Vaccarès pond. The track is in poor condition in places. I recommend that you have a tire section greater than 40 millimeters to maintain comfort. This section of approximately 10 kilometers does not offer any supply points. Remember to take water with you.

An interesting route - from Arles to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and back.
Attention: the route is partly very bad with many holes, sand and gravel as a surface. That demands a lot from the material and also from the people.

This alternative route from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to Arles is prohibited for motorized traffic - with the exception of residents. This makes it interesting for cyclists who want to escape the busy road (with a marked shoulder, after all).
I have ridden this route several times with a gravel bike at different times. After heavy rain it can be in very poor condition (03/22/24); But I have already found it to be very well prepared and easy to drive.
The landscape experience is in any case fantastic and recommended.
