This alternative route from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to Arles is prohibited for motorized traffic - with the exception of residents. This makes it interesting for cyclists who want to escape the busy road (with a marked shoulder, after all).
I have ridden this route several times with a gravel bike at different times. After heavy rain it can be in very poor condition (03/22/24); But I have already found it to be very well prepared and easy to drive.
