Ruckowitzschachten and Windthrow Experience Trail

Condition requirement for the entire tour: average to demanding (over 4 ½ kilometers of continuous ascent, average of 15% incline, 600 meters in altitude)
Personal requirement: surefootedness (roots and stones over long distances)
Important equipment: Sturdy shoes - ideally waterproof hiking or trekking shoes (sometimes there is a small trickle on the way as well as small swampy areas, especially when it has rained). Hiking sticks are a good help for hikers who feel a little insecure or who can easily get out of breath with physical fitness.
Tour length: 10.6 km.

Highlight:
On the large mountain meadow (Ruckowitzschachten) you can enjoy a small view of the surrounding mountains for the first time and rest on a bench. A beautiful piece of earth. The Wind Throw Adventure Trail begins immediately after the shaft. Here, the 2007 hurricane Kyrill uprooted and kinked most of the trees. Subsequently, this section was not processed but left to nature. This 400-meter-long path is a place of power and develops its own atmosphere as you hike through it.
