One of the old medieval city gates of Riva del Garda.
One of the old medieval city gates of Riva del Garda. Originally built in the 14th century during the reign of Mastino II della Scala, it was remodeled by the Venetians in the second half of the 15th century and restored in 1536 by Bishop Bernardo Clesio, who had his coat of arms (two lions) placed on the north side. The last restoration was carried out in the second half of the 19th century by Podestà Luigi Antonio Baruffaldi.
The headquarters of the Alpine Society (SAT) of Riva del Garda is located on the upper floor.
