From 1932 to 1968, Het Meinhuis was located on the site of the “Bootjesvijver”, which functioned as a café and guest house. The name Meinhuis comes from the batches of wood that were “mined” there. Whoever wanted to buy a batch of wood shouted “MY”. Later, after it was demolished in 1968, it became a basin where boats could be sailed, it even had a school trip destination. Now there is a fence around it and there is no more water in it.
