The palace was built in 1868 by Wilhelm von Wedel-Piesdorf as a stately, two-storey quarry stone building in Neo-Renaissance forms. Between 1945 and 1990 it was used as a children's home. Today it is owned by the von Daniels-Spangenberg family.
