The keystollen is a water solution tunnel for the Mansfeld mining district that was once landscaped as a collared tunnel. It has a total length of 32.3 kilometers, making it one of the longest mining mines in Europe. The construction of the keyhole lasted, including a longer break from 1751 to 1891, with the major part of the work being done between 1809 and 1879.
The escaping water is very salty and has a temperature of about 8 ° C.
