Hengsteysee - section of the south-east bank of the run-of-river power station to the Hengsteysee bridge

Promising section along the south-east bank of the Hengsteysee. Here you can go hiking, cycling, running or walking from the run-of-river power station past the Koepchenwerk and the Niedernhof on the other bank to the Hengsteysee bridge. The section is laid out so that you can integrate it into different tour variants.

An inexpensive place for cyclists to stay overnight on the grounds of the Hagen Herdecke canoe club on Lake Hengstey.

Again a nice place to stay. The view is beautiful again and they are much more comfortable than they look!

The Hengsteysee is always worth a detour. You can walk or cycle around it completely. At the Hengsteysee bridge there is the biker café and usually also an ice cream van, so that the physical well-being is ensured.

The bike / footpath runs close to the south bank, with a beautiful view of the opposite side.

On the other side is the Niedernhof. The tower was badly damaged by the bombing of the Möhne dam. Due to the damming, it got below the waterline.

This is a little confusing here

This section is one of the highlights of the entire Ruhr Valley hiking trail.

the clerk Sylvia speaks of a BIKER CAFE at the Hengsteysee bridge. This BUDE is a chip shop of the simplest level. Not even running water for fresh coffee, it comes from plastic canisters.
And scribe Ulrich Rider speaks of FREEDOM that the bridge in the direction of Herdecke can only be crossed on foot. There is a construction fence here, which narrows the bridge very much, so it is a MUST for everyone (pedestrians and cyclists) to be CAREFUL to push the bike here. So Ulrich Rider, maybe this is the first time you are reading something about consideration. I don't want to meet you on this bridge !!!
