Impressive and beautifully situated building complex.

It now houses the Viennese middle school Sta. Christiana is a Catholic private school with public status. There is an elementary school, a higher education institute, a technical school and an advanced course for economic professions as well as a day boarding school at the site.

In the Middle Ages, the castle was a fortress, Veste "Radaun", which provided protection against enemies from the east. A chapel in Rodaun (castle chapel) is mentioned as early as 1379. The castle was owned by the respected Würffel family (who provided three mayors of Vienna) until the end of the 15th century. This family was responsible for the construction of the core of Rodaun Castle.
