The parish church of St. Augustine in Perchtoldsdorf is a beautiful work of art, with predominantly Gothic elements. Significant parts of the interior are Baroque.

The beautiful stained-glass windows are also noteworthy.

The Roman Catholic parish church of Perchtoldsdorf stands on the market square in the area of the former Perchtoldsdorf Castle.

The church was built in the eastern courtyard of the castle, within the former castle fortifications. The elevation of the castle chapel to St. Mary to parish status was first documented in 1217. The castle was destroyed in 1236, the church was rebuilt, and reconsecrated in 1270. From 1336 to 1338, the so-called Duke's Chapel, dedicated to St. Nicholas, was added under Albrecht II.

Following the construction of the Duke's Chapel, the late Romanesque church was demolished, and the present three-aisled chancel was built, incorporating the Duke's Chapel. It was consecrated in 1362. Exterior restorations took place in 1967 and 1975, and interior restorations were carried out in 1983/1985 and again for the 800th anniversary in 2017.
... The late Gothic hall church with a high Gothic, three-apsed staggered hall choir modeled after St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna.
