The Dahlhausen lock is one of 16 locks that were built by order of King Friedrich II for the Ruhr shipping. It is located on the south bank of the Ruhr in the Dumberg district of the city of Hattingen. The Bochum district of Dahlhausen is located on the opposite bank.
