In 1994 the forgotten Fuchsloch tunnel was overwhelmed by the Rittersgrün Knappschaft. Visitors were also guided here for a number of years. Today the Fuchslochstollen is no longer used and serves as winter quarters for some species of bats.

Mountain biking

The tunnel, which was probably built in 1559 at the instigation of the Elector of Saxony, dates from the earliest beginnings of Rittersgrüner iron and tin mining. The average height of the tunnel is 1.70 m and the width about 0.65 m. Its length is at least 250 meters, but it is believed to be up to 300 meters. Hiking

It was probably struck in the middle of the 16th century. The driveway was made with mallets and irons. Clear traces of this are still visible throughout the tunnel area.
