The castle in Stedtfeld
The former Boyneburgk castle and the associated estate were built in 1667. It took the place of a well-fortified moated castle that, located on the Hörsel, was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. In 1755 a hall was built in the castle, the walls of which are covered with large paintings. With these paintings, the painter I. E. Schuchmann created a panorama of the Stedtfeld landscape and the village itself.
The representations of village life around 1755 are of cultural and historical value. Numerous hunting scenes and depictions of agriculture complete the pictures. This gem of supra-regional importance is currently being restored and hopefully can be visited by many guests again soon.

Since 1754 there has been a fountain with a lion holding the coat of arms of the builder in the castle courtyard. Dolphins as water dispensers and beautiful ornamental decoration in the rococo style made the fountain one of the most beautiful examples of this time. Unfortunately, it is also in the process of being restored.
