The Krügersche Haus is the oldest surviving building in the city. Today there is the Tourist Information and the GeesthachtMuseum (focus: history of the place).

"The Krügersche Haus was built at the beginning of the 17th century as a Low German hall building, and in the 18th century two additions were added to the front end. In 1934, the thatched roof was replaced by a pan roof." Source: BOEHART, W., KNUST, H .: Time jumps Geesthacht, Erfurt 2005
According to another source, the house was built in 1676.

As the oldest surviving building in the city, the Krügersche Haus is a very special contemporary witness in Geesthacht. A visit is definitely worthwhile, because today the rustic half-timbered house houses the museum and the Tourist Information Geesthacht.
The house was built in 1723 in the manner of a Low German hall house. In the 18th century, two annexes were added on the front sides, so that the building stood both eaves and gable to the street. This striking facade has been preserved to this day.

The Kruger House is the oldest surviving building in the city and dates back to 1723. Beautiful to look at and now home to the museum and tourist information office.
